A Brief Summary of what we do:

The F T Construction Group was formed in 1987 to amalgamate the well respected and long established names within the construction industry of Fordy and Thompson - it created a substantial Construction Group with more then 350 employees. The group operates a policy of Direct Employment of Operatives and each year provides Craft Apprenticeship Training for a new intake of school leavers.

Issues Faced Prior to purchasing The Training Manager

Prior to the introduction of The Training Manager , training was recorded in triplicate with records kept on paper, spreadsheets and also wall charts. For a Contract Manager or Site manager to get up to date information on Operatives Training was a mammoth task and involved several e-mails, phone calls and digging through paper files. Often items were misplaced or recorded incorrectly in haste. Often expiry dates of training would be missed due to no simple way of monitoring and reporting this.

What we hoped to achieve from purchasing The Training Manager

Through the purchase of the Training Manager we hoped to be able to streamline this process and allow access to training records to all who required it for information purposes. It was also hoped that it would allow us to monitor more efficiently the expiry dates of training to ensure nothing gets missed.

How The Training Manager has helped us

The training manager has reduced the level of time spent recording training and made the whole process more efficient and effective. It allows us to produce a report on a monthly basis to track training that is due to expire in the coming three months and to record the training that has been booked. It has also provided us with the facility to give 'read only' access to the Site Teams allowing them to see what training an Operative has completed and training that is booked for the future.
